You'll see the other special prize winners in the carousel show above, and below you'll find the Top 101 in a flip-book below - it's a proof copy of the book that will be published shortly, but we're providing this proof version now so winners can check spelling and their details!

This year, we had 3403 entries from 840 entrants. The cut off score this year was 85.2%, but once again, there were hundreds of images scoring above 80% which could happily sit alongside the photographs in this book. You'll be able to see what your images scored by logging back into your account on our competition section of the website.

Our judging panel is an incredibly important part of our process. As in previous years, we maintain a mix of nationalities, genders and personal photography styles, both within and outside of the landscape genre. We also invite the previous year’s winner to sit on the judging panel, which keeps our judging panel similar from year to year, but also keeps it contemporary.

There is US $10,000 in cash prizes for the best Photograph of the Year (single shot, 1st, 2nd, 3rd) and best Photographer of the Year (portfolio of four photographs, 1st, 2nd, 3rd), and there are five special subject awards (Wildlife in Landscape, Abstract Aerial, Snow & Ice, Lone Tree, Heavenly Cloud) which receive a one metre print from the high-end photo lab and framer, Created For Life. All 11 winners receive a physical copy of the annual Awards book, proudly printed by Momento Pro.

Our thanks goes to our wonderful judging team: Kaye Davis from New Zealand, Jim Goldstein and David Burnett from the USA, and Tim Parkin from the UK. Our fifth judge is the previous year’s winner, Adam Gibbs from Canada.

On behalf of David Evans, my co-convenor, we once again hope you enjoy the best landscape photographs in the world from 2019.

EVERYONE SHOOTS GOOD PHOTOS, BUT HOW ABOUT FOUR OF THEM?

INTERNATIONAL LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHER

OF THE YEAR

It takes a practised eye and skill in post-production to consistently produce good work. And while in no way demeaning the achievement of capturing the overall International Landscape Photograph of the Year, let’s take a closer look at who is creating the best body of work. The International Landscape PhotographER of the Year, whether an enthusiast or a professional entrant, recognises the skill and discipline to create a portfolio of images that stands above the work of your peers.

THERE ARE 101 LANDSCAPE IMAGES IN THE BOOK, BUT ONLY ONE

INTERNATIONAL LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPH

OF THE YEAR

Competitions are not perfect and with so many great landscape photographs (101 to be exact), being the overall winner, the top dog, the big prize winner, is going to need a little bit of luck. Nevertheless, that shouldn’t stop us from aspiring to be chosen by our panel of esteemed judges as the best of the best, the single most impressive landscape photograph of the past 12 months. Open to both amateurs and professionals!
